HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) –A 48-year-old man was apprehended by Hopkinsville Police after stealing nine cases of beer from Huck’s on North Drive.

Sunday morning around 8:45 a.m., officers were dispatched the gas station location where the clerk said he saw the suspect leaving the store with a case of beer without paying, with additional cases of beer seen in his van. When the clerk approached, the suspect said, “I know a lot of people, and if you want to live today, stay out of it and don’t tell anybody.”

HPD was able to utilize city and Flock cameras to track the van’s location. An investigation revealed the owner of the vehicle, and an address linked to a prior call for service related to a disturbance. Officers located the suspect, identified as Datorian Caswell, at an apartment on Dawon Springs Road around 1:30 p.m.

According to an arrest report, all cases of various beer brands were recovered, with the stolen merchandise returned to Huck’s undamaged and unopened valued at around $160. The suspect was arrested and charged with second degree robbery.
