HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 41-year-old man was hit and killed by a train by the Woodmill Road overpass near Durrett Avenue in Hopkinsville.
Officer Royale Marfil with the Hopkinsville Police Department said train engineers saw the man walking on the tracks and attempted to warn him by blowing the horn the afternoon of Dec. 26. The name of the man has not been released at this time.
The train temporarily blocked some roadways while the investigation was underway. By 2:20 p.m., roads reopened according to Christian County Emergency Management.
