HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Christian County Schools has announced the appointment of Megan Kem to serve as interim principal at Christian County High School beginning July 1, 2025. Kem has served as the assistant principal at CCHS for the past six years.
“On behalf of Christian County Public Schools, we are proud to welcome Ms. Kem into her new role as Interim Principal of Christian County High School,” said Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “Ms. Kem has been a dedicated and longstanding member of the Colonel administration and is widely respected across our district for her leadership and commitment to student success. She embodies the spirit of Colonel pride and excellence, and we are confident that her experience and steady leadership will guide the school effectively during this next year of transition.”
Ms. Kem is an 18-year veteran of the Christian County School district, having dedicated her career to serving both Hopkinsville High and Christian County High Schools. She holds a Master’s degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Kentucky, as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling and School Administration from Murray State University.

My commitment is to student success and building a school culture where every student has the opportunity to thrive.”
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Kem is a devoted wife to her husband of 18 years, Matt, and a dedicated mother to their two children, Lilly and Charlie.
The appointment follows the recent resignation of Principal Leigh Ellen Malone, who has accepted a position with Warren County Schools. The district extends its best wishes to Ms. Malone in her future endeavors.
