Michael Jay Sexton, age 71, of Nortonville, KY passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at Jennie Stuart of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held at 10 AM Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Sexton was born on February 17, 1953, in New Castle, IN, the son of Laila Denise Shafer Russell and the late Archie L. Sexton Jr. Michael was a retired Aviation Mechanic for the United States Army where he served in the Gulf War. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Evan Sexton.
In addition to his mother, Laila Russell of Indiana, survivors include his sons, Silas Sexton (Amanda) of Summerville, SC and Chester Sexton of Ashland, KY; his brother, Rodney Sexton (Laura) of Indiana; his sister, Krista Upchurch of Indiana; his five grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren.
