HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was arrested overnight after taking a baby into freezing temperatures in a Hopkinsville neighborhood.

Just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 16, the Hopkinsville Police Department reported that a one-year-old child had been taken by their intoxicated father in the area of Calvin Drive. Police said the child was wearing only a diaper when taken out into extreme cold temperatures, and the father did not have a vehicle to provide shelter. At the time, it was below 30 degrees outside.

Hopkinsville Fire/EMS utilized their thermal drone to assist HPD in locating the suspect and the baby. They were both safely located around an hour later. The father, identified as 24-year-old Montray Bibbs, was arrested and taken to the Christian County Jail. He is being charged with criminal abuse.
