HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 58-year-old woman on meth was injured in an accident at the intersection of Morningside Drive and South Virginia Street. The accident occurred Tuesday evening around 7:30 p.m., according to a collision report from Hopkinsville Police Department.

A sedan was waiting at the stop sign on Morningside Drive and crossed the intersection after not seeing another vehicle. A moped crossing from South Virgina Street hit the vehicle on the passenger side. The woman on the moped later told police the car pulled out in front of her.

The woman admitted to EMS personnel on the scene that she was on methamphetamine and produced a baggie to officers. She was not wearing a helmet during the accident and suffered a head injury, and lower extremity injuries, according to Hopkinsville EMS. Air Medical was requested to the scene but was unable to come due to the weather.

The collision report from Hopkinsville Police states drug charges will be sought at a later date due to the severity of her injuries.
