HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Continued precipitation is expected in Christian County overnight and into Monday.
The National Weather Service is predicting snow showers around 4 a.m. on Jan. 6, with less than half an inch of accumulation expected. More snow showers are possible into the early afternoon on Monday, with wind gusts up to 24 mph.
While Christian County avoided significant ice accumulation on the ground as the winter storm blew through the area, excessive rain has made for potentially hazardous road conditions. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office described the roads as “not ideal” Sunday afternoon due to pooling water on the roadways.
“As temperatures drop below freezing, roads could become hazardous when people are heading to work tomorrow morning,” said a shared statement from CCSO. “Please pay attention to weather and road reports, and exercise caution when driving. Avoid speeding, especially on roads with ice patches.”
