OAK GROVE, KY – Production has officially wrapped in Oak Grove as a new film project, The Wedding Suite, shot on location at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, showcases the region’s dynamic settings, welcoming community, and growing role in film and television production.
Directed by Christopher Lee Herod, the film’s plot centers around a bride who finds out her fiancé has been unfaithful right before the wedding. Herod’s IMdb page lists him as a filmmaker who is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former Army Reservist currently based in Nashville, Tennessee.


The project highlights Oak Grove’s versatility as a filming destination, utilizing the distinctive atmosphere and amenities of Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel as a key backdrop. The production marks another milestone for Western Kentucky as it continues to attract high-quality film and television projects.
“From the moment we arrived, Oak Grove made this production better,” said Producer Jeremy Winton. “The community support, the professionalism, and the unique locations, especially Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, make this an outstanding place to shoot. We’re excited to bring this story to life here.”
Kristi Kilday, another producer on the project, is from California and moved to Kentucky due to the state’s film incentive, according to Traci Cunningham with Oak Grove Tourism. She along with Winton are co-commissioners on the West Kentucky Film Commission, who recently announced partnerships with Hopkinsville and Oak Grove to market more film projects to the area.
Kilday praised the experience of filming in the area, saying, “Oak Grove has been incredible to work in. The people are welcoming, the locations are visually striking, and there’s a genuine enthusiasm here for creative projects. It’s exactly the kind of place filmmakers hope to find.”

Impact on Oak Grove tourism
The film crew spent 5 days filming in Oak Grove, bringing cast, crew, and production staff to the area. During that time, production generated a positive economic impact for the community through hotel stays, dining, local shopping, and the use of area services, while also creating long-term tourism exposure as audiences see Oak Grove featured on screen.
Filming in Oak Grove underscores Kentucky’s growing reputation as a film-friendly state, offering compelling locations, strong local partnerships, and a collaborative spirit that supports production at every level.
