HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Muggles and magic enthusiasts alike were spellbound at The Bruce Friday night as the Harry Potter Yule Ball finally unfolded. Originally slated for November 2023, the event was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, but the enchantment was worth the wait.

In a collaboration with the Christian County Literacy Council, this was the second installment of their Harry Potter-themed extravaganzas. Following the success of the summer event, which saw a sold-out crowd of 400 attendees, The Bruce expanded the event to accommodate 600 this time.

All were encouraged to wear their finest costumes or formal wear. The best-dressed won awards, plus there were costume contests, Harry Potter trivia, live performances, and, of course, dancing on the ballroom floor where hosts sorted attendees into their respective houses – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

A portion of the ticket sales will go to the Christian County Literacy Council, whose main goal is promoting literacy to youth in the county. The previous Harry Potter event was able to raise $1,000 for the organization.
