HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, along with Visit Hopkinsville, and Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium will celebrate the work of Christian County native Edgar Cayce on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23.

According to a press release, Edgar Cayce was born in Christian County in 1877. He displayed great gifts of clairvoyance that he used to help thousands of people overcome health and other problems. He was known as the “Sleeping Prophet,” and is credited at being an early force in holistic medicine.

The celebration will begin downtown on Friday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m., at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 East 9 Street.

Special programs include a conversation with Grace Abernathy and a viewing of The Beautiful Dreamer film. On Saturday, the festivities continue with a chakra workshop, outdoor mural painting, a mummy food demonstration, stones and crystal presentation, and more.

Participants can also tour the Pennyroyal Area Museum and see the exhibit dedicated to Edgar Cayce or take the cell phone tour to local sites and learn more about his life in Hopkinsville. The tour concludes at his gravesite in Riverside Cemetery.
