PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed tornadoes touched down in the region on Sunday.
Survey teams found EF-1 damage in Trigg County with winds at 95 mph over a 6-mile path that morning. A second tornado then made its track through Christian County for 19 miles, and it has been determined to be an EF-2 with 115 mph winds that caused numerous power outages and damage, according to NWS.

The tornado entered at the county line, then passed south of Hopkinsville between The Links at Novadell and Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, and then through Pembroke before ending.
A lot of the damage was seen in Pembroke, and the community is working hard to clear debris from their yards and neighborhoods, according to Pembroke Fire Chief Nicholas Belair. Pembroke Mayor Jeanette Aldridge said the cleanup is going to take time, but things are definitely improving as the week goes on.
For the rest of the week, the weather looks to be pleasant through Friday with a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. The National Weather Service expects nothing of danger with this weekends storms.
