HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel announced Tuesday the appointment of Dr. Jason Wilson as Assistant Superintendent of Schools, effective immediately. Dr. Wilson most recently served as the district’s Interim Assistant Superintendent and Director of Technology.

“We are pleased to officially welcome Dr. Wilson into the role of Assistant Superintendent,” said Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to supporting both students and staff throughout his time in our district. His transition into this role is a natural progression, and I have every confidence that he will continue to be a driving force in advancing our mission and supporting our schools, staff, and families.”

Dr. Wilson has completed 19 years of service in public education and is a proud graduate of Christian County High School. He began his career as a middle school teacher in Trigg County Public Schools, where he taught math, science, and engineering. Dr. Wilson later transitioned into school administration in Todd County before returning home to Christian County in 2013.

Over the past 12 years, he has served Christian County Public Schools in various leadership roles. Dr. Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree
(2006) and a master’s degree (2010) in middle school education from Murray State University, a master’s degree in school administration from the University of the Cumberlands (2012), and a Doctorate of Education in Instruction and Administration from the University of Kentucky (2021).

“I am humbled and honored to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Christian County Public Schools,” said Dr. Wilson. “As a graduate of this district and a parent of two students here, I am deeply committed to supporting our schools, staff, and families as we work together to provide the very best for every student.”

Wilson and his wife, Lauren, are proud to live and raise their family in Christian County. They have two daughters who attend CCHS: Sophia, a senior, and Carter Jane, a freshman.
