HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Oak Grove Butterfly Festival has earned international recognition, receiving two prestigious awards celebrating its commitment to children, education, and creating an exceptional family festival experience.
The Butterfly Festival was honored with a Silver Pinnacle Award for Best Children’s Educational Program and the Gold Pinnacle Award for Best Children’s Festival, recognizing the festival’s dedication to providing meaningful educational opportunities while creating memorable experiences for children and families.

These international awards are a tremendous honor for Oak Grove Tourism and the entire team behind the Butterfly Festival. The festival has continued to grow into an event that not only celebrates the beauty and wonder of butterflies but also inspires children to learn about nature, conservation, science, and the world around them.
“The Butterfly Festival is about so much more than a festival,” said Traci Cunningham, Executive Director of Oak Grove Tourism. “It is about creating experiences that children will remember, while giving them opportunities to learn, explore and discover something new. To receive international recognition in both education and children’s festivals is an incredible honor, and I am extremely proud of everyone who has worked so hard to make this event what it is today.”
The Silver Award for Best Children’s Educational Program recognizes the festival’s emphasis on hands-on learning and educational experiences designed to engage young minds. From learning about the butterfly life cycle to discovering the importance of pollinators and conservation, the festival provides children with an opportunity to learn while having fun.
The Gold Award for Best Children’s Festival recognizes the overall quality, creativity, family-friendly atmosphere, programming, and experience the Butterfly Festival provides to children and families.
“These awards belong to the entire Oak Grove community,” Cunningham added. “It takes an incredible team, and I have the most wonderful team hands down along with the community members to bring the Butterfly Festival to life. Their passion and dedication are what make this festival special.”
