OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Oak Grove City Councilmember and small business owner John Campbell has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Oak Grove.
Campbell has served on the council for the past three years, where he has worked on long-term planning efforts to prepare the city for significant residential and commercial growth, according to a news release.
“Oak Grove is at a pivotal moment,” said Campbell. “With new homes, new businesses, and new families coming to our city, we need leadership that plans ahead, manages growth responsibly, and keeps public safety and infrastructure at the forefront.”
A news release announcing his candidacy states that his campaign is centered around strengthening public safety, promoting unity and transparency, and investing in infrastructure and growth. As a small business owner, he emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility and careful budgeting.
“My focus is on finding solutions without raising taxes,” he said. “Growth should help pay for growth, and city government should always be accountable to the people it serves.”
