OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Oak Grove City Council approved several paving projects, investing a total of $475,000 from the Municipal Road Aid Fund to improve local roads.

This large-scale paving project includes just over a dozen roads. Some of the chosen roadways located in the Beel Subdivision have not been paved in a few decades and reportedly have deteriorating conditions. The following roads are listed to be paved.

  • Shadow Ridge Avenue
  • JW Dickson Drive
  • Timothy Avenue
  • Gainey Avenue
  • Kieth Avenue
  • Auburn Street
  • Arkansas Avenue
  • Oklahoma Avenue
  • Missouri Avenue
  • Alabama Avenue
  • Texas Avenue
  • Illinois Avenue
  • Indiana Avenue

As previously laid out in the city’s budget for this fiscal year, councilmembers voted to approve the expenditure for allocation of funds during the Aug. 20 meeting. The floor was open to input from residents, but there were no public comments.

A timeline on when the paving will begin and how long the process will take is currently not available.
