HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Several people escaped a fire Tuesday morning that damaged a home in Hopkinsville.
Around 5 a.m. on Feb. 17, firefighters were dispatched to the 1700 block of Phelps Avenue in response to a structure fire. Two stations came to the residence, with smoke and flames visible upon arrival. Hopkinsville Fire Department says crews were able to quickly extinguish flames and spent time continuing to check for remaining hot spots.
Nathan Stewart with HFD told Christian County Now that all of the occupants inside the home were able to safely exit before emergency crews arrived. While the cause of the fire is currently undetermined, it began on the second floor of the home.
No injuries were reported.
