From Oct. 1-7, enjoy Wolf Week at Land Between the Lakes Nature Center. There will be red wolf treat times, puppy Play-doh crafts, wolf origami and much more! The full schedule can be found on the Wolf Week flyer.

Visit the Golden Pond Planetarium on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. for a Laser Metallica show. The night sky will light up to the tunes of the classic rock 90s band, Metallica. The full laser light show schedule can be found on the Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory schedule.

Join the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers at the Observatory on Oct. 7, located behind the planetarium for a night a sky viewing through telescopes. This star party event is weather dependent.

Visitors to the Homeplace love to talk about their memories of wood cook-stoves and the old cast iron skillets that have been passed down through the generations. Come and experience cooking on the wood stove t and learn how to take care of Granny’s skillet for the next generation.

The Homeschool Fall Learning Series: Alien Invaders will take place on Oct. 12 at noon. Learn about invasive species and how they can impact our native wildlife. The program has limited seating so call 270-924-2020 to reserve your spot for $3.

Enjoy Blacksmithing at the Homeplace on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11a.m. It’s hammer time at the 1850s farm. We will be demonstrating historical methods of blacksmithing on a bellows operated charcoal forge. Visit the nature station on Oct. 28 at 11:30 for The Spooky Safari. Let’s take a tour of the backyard and learn the spooky sounds, superstitions, and stories of the animals in the backyard. We will find out the truth behind the myth, as we get a closer look at these amazing creatures.

The Halloween Quilting Bee will take place on Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Learn the basics of quilting via our graveyard quilt, a popular method of remembering loved ones after they had died.
