Updated 10:50 a.m.: Hopkinsville Police have determined that there is no credible threat to Christian County High School or Christian County Middle School. Schools will operate on a normal schedule.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A circulating social media post implying a threat towards Christian County High School has sparked an investigation by Hopkinsville Police.
“School officials have been notified and law enforcement is working to determine the source of the threat. Out of an abundance of precaution, additional security measures will be put in place,” said Officer Royal Marfil with HPD at 5 a.m. on Monday.
According to a statement from Christian County Public Schools, they take all threats seriously and HPD has assigned extra officers to the schools today. Parents and guardians of students have been made aware of the situation.
“Any individual found making a threat will face serious consequences in accordance with district policies and local law enforcement,” said CCPS.
