HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A senior from Christian County High School is one of 2,500 students nationwide who will receive a highly sought after and competitive full ride scholarship that will allow him to attend Yale University.
According to Christian County Public Schools, Samuel Norwine won the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship, which is a comprehensive aid package that will allow him to attend Yale. This specific scholarship is a highly competitive program for high school seniors seeking admission and a full four-year scholarship from a select list of elite colleges.
In 2025, more than 25,000 students applied to QuestBridge, with 7,288 selected as finalists. Of those, just 2,550 students across the United States were awarded full four-year scholarships, which includes Samuel. CCPS says that he plans to pursue a career as a medical examiner and was matched with Yale in early December after months of evaluation.
“This year’s Match Scholarship Recipients embody excellence in so many ways, and we’re excited to support them as they continue to dream big,” said Ana Rowena Mallari, Co-Founder and CEO of QuestBridge in a news release. “Since QuestBridge’s founding over 30 years ago, we’ve witnessed the incredible impact our Scholars can make in their lives, families, and communities, and we know that this year’s students will make a positive impact, too.”
QuestBridge aims to connect high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to the nation’s top colleges. Finalists who were selected demonstrated that they are prepared to excel on their college campuses and beyond. The Match Scholarship, provided by the school of choice, is made up of a generous financial aid package that covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, housing and food, books and supplies, and travel expenses.
