HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Christian County Public Schools is proud to announce that it once again secured the top spot in Kentucky’s Safe Schools Week pledge campaign led by the Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS).

This year, 4,149 students, staff, and community members pledged to do their part in keeping schools safe, surpassing the next highest district by more than 1,000 pledges. The 2025 theme, “Focus on School Safety,” was held September 8–12, encouraging schools across the Commonwealth to engage in discussions and commit to the pledge.

“This is a testament to the commitment and seriousness of school safety in Christian County Public Schools,’ said Director of School Law Enforcement and Safety Clayton Sumner. “We are proud of the dedication shown by our students, staff, and community members in making safety a top priority.”

This marks the second consecutive year CCPS has led the state in overall pledges, underscoring the district’s strong commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. The KCSS was established by the General Assembly in 1998 in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Education. Its mission is to provide local school districts with the support, training, and resources needed to create and maintain safe, secure, and nurturing learning environments for all students.
