HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An overnight fire killed one man in Herndon and destroyed a home on Striped Bridge Road near Lafayette Road.
The call reporting a structure fire was received around 1:20 a.m. according to Herndon Volunteer Fire Department Chief Parker Cibene. Multiple emergency units responded including Christian County Emergency Management, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the state fire marshal, and Square Deal Fire Department.
The home was deemed a total loss, and a man died as a result of the fire. The victim was identified by the Christian County Coroner as 83-year-old Stephen Finchum.
The fire is currently being investigated by the state fire marshal.
