HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man has died after being struck by a train in the area of East 21st Street and Walnut Avenue in Hopkinsville.
The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, according to Officer Royale Marfil with the Hopkinsville Police Department. The pedestrian was an adult man, his identity has not been released at this time. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
When the accident occurred, traffic throughout the city was greatly impacted for several hours as numerous roadways were blocked that intersect railroad crossings. No other injuries were sustained by crew members on board the train. According to HPD, the incident is still under investigation.
