OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man died early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle at the Pilot Travel Center in Oak Grove. The man has been identified as 39-year-old Samuel Harlon Whitworth.
Hopkinsville Fire Department responded to a call just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 24 for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. The accident occurred near the entrance of the gas station as Whitworth was attempting to cross the road, according to HFD spokesperson Payton Rogers.
Christian County Deputy Coroner Tim Fleming pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Christian County Now has reached out to law enforcement about the status of the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, no information about possible charges is available at this time.
