UPDATE: Pedestrians discover body at Hopkinsville Greenway, man identified

Hopkinsville Police Department is currently investigating after a body was found over the weekend in the river by the Rails to Trails Greenway system.

Updated 3:18 p.m.: The man found deceased has been identified by police as 45-year-old Dmitri Jackson.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A body was found over the weekend in the Little River by the Hopkinsville Greenway Rail Trail, officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department are continuing to investigate.

Just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 7, police received a call after a group of people walking the trail discovered a male subject laying face up in the water adjacent to the trail. The Christian County Coroner responded and pronounced him as deceased.

HPD is continuing to investigate the death. According to Officer Royale Marfil, they believe there is no foul play involved. The name of the man has not been released as next of kin have not been notified yet.
