HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Local band directors, music teachers, former band members and students are part of the Pennyrile Area Community Band in Hopkinsville. From teenagers to people in their 70’s, this group of talented musicians has spent the last few months preparing for their spring performance.
The free concert will be at the auditorium at Hopkinsville Community College starting at 3:00 p.m. on April 28. Michelle Cherry with the community band told Christian County now that the music is for all ages and will be a great family event. Around 40 band members will take the stage with guest conductor J. Daniel Jenkins.
The group is eager to share their passion for music with the community. As a nonprofit, the band is fully funded by donations to purchase music and other equipment. Although the concert is free, donations can be given during the concert, or send to the Pennyrile Area Community Band at 506 Henderson Drive in Hopkinsville.
