HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – For the 25th year in a row, the Hopkinsville Fire Department is participating in the Christmas for Kids Campaign. The community is able to adopt a local family for Christmas, and purchase gifts for them.

There are 50 local families participating that have been vetted through the Salvation Army. The department’s goal is to provide gifts for all 50 families, and as of this week only 11 families have been adopted.

Payton Rodgers with the fire department said this is a program they take a lot of pride in, and encourages people in Hopkinsville to help support these families. People interested can email Fire Chief Sivills at csivills@h-ky.us, or call 270-890-1450. Gifts must be dropped off by Dec. 15 at the Hopkinsville Fire Headquarters.
