Updated 3:28 p.m.: As of 2:35 p.m., the roadways have reopened and the traffic has cleared, according to the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Updated 1:48 p.m.: The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has specified which roadways are accessible while the railroad crossings are shut down due to the accident.

A news release from KYTC says that the railroad crossing on Skyline Drive is open, and motorists can utilize the overpass on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way to cross the railroad.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Several roadways that intersect with train tracks are blocked throughout Hopkinsville due to an accident involving a train and a pedestrian.

Christian County Emergency Management says they estimate the tracks will be blocked for an extended period of time. Motorists are advised to detour on the East 18th Street bridge, which is the only way around the train within city limits.

Hopkinsville Police are on scene, no other details are available at this time.
