HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.

Here are two animals the shelter recommends this week for adoption:

Hey guys this is Jasper! Jasper is a 2 year old black Lab! Jasper does well with most farm animals but he thinks mutton is delicious. Jasper also does well with other dogs and cats. Jasper also loves kids! Jasper is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE as of 12-07-23. Jasper was banded by his previous owners, however we can not guarantee if this way of neutering was effective and it is not an approved method of altering animals. Jasper is a very sweet boy and he just wants to find his FURREVER home!! Jasper’s adoption fee is $54.50.

Tart, s a 1 year old black and white DSH. (Contributed)Hey guys this is Tart. Tart is a 1 year old black and white DSH and was released to the shelter because the owner was incarcerated. Tart was scared at first but she has came around since she has been here. Tart is FIV/FLV/HW NEGATIVE as of 12-13-23. Tart is litterbox trained. Tart does not like other cats or dogs so she would need a home without them in it. Tart is ready to find her FUREVER home! Tart’s adoption fee is $67.50.
