HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.

Here are two animals the shelter recommends this week for adoption:

This handsome boy is Tater. He was surrendered to the shelter as a stray and was not reclaimed. Now he is searching for a loving home. He is good with cats as well as other dogs. Tater is also house broken. He is a 10 year old NEUTERED male beagle mix. Tater came in with very infected ears but we are working on remedying that. All he wants is a nice warm home to live out the rest of his years. Tater is a bit of a picky eater. We believe he was used to eating people food. You won’t find a more loving buddy. Tater is also heart worm negative.
His adoption fee has been FULLY SPONSORED.

Brownie, is an 8 month old female terrier mix. (Contributed)

This precious little girl is Brownie. Brownie is an 8 month old female terrier mix who was surrendered to the shelter because she was chewing up everything. According to her previous owners she is good with other dogs as well as kids. That being said, she is very nervous with new people and it takes her a little time to warm up to them. We do not suggest that she go to a home with small children. She is extremely loving once she gets to know you. Brownie currently weighs about 22 pounds and is about as big as she is going to get. She is also heart worm negative. Her adoption fee is $83.
