Diara is a 2-year-old Calico Domestic Short Hair cat who has been with us for 147 days, making her our longest feline resident. She was owner released, and while her journey hasn’t been the easiest, we know there’s a special someone out there who can give her the patient, understanding home she deserves. Diara is a complex girl — she has her moods, but when she feels safe and comfortable, she can be incredibly sweet and calm. She’s the kind of cat who prefers to make the first move — she doesn’t like being rushed or handled too much, but once she chooses you, it feels like an honor. Because of her sensitive nature, we believe she would thrive best as the only pet in a quieter home with kids 12 and up who understand boundaries. Her history with other animals, young children, or her house and litter box training status is unknown, but she shows signs of wanting to connect — she just needs someone willing to go at her pace. She prefers to keep her distance from the boys, so a home without male dogs is ideal.
