Here are two animals the shelter recommends this week for adoption:
Hi, my name is Buttercup. I am an 8-week-old, female Tabby DSH. I was released to the shelter after my rescuers found me 3 weeks ago. Sadly, they could not keep me, and now I am here looking for my new PURR-FECT home. They had cats in their home, and I really enjoyed being able to play with them, so I hope you have another cat with which I can play. I do not know how I feel about dogs, but I do know, I feel uncomfortable around the barking, but I am willing to try it out and see if after I have been around them for a little bit, if I will begin to enjoy their company as well. I loved being around the children my rescuers had, so I will love your kiddos! I did use the litterbox while they had me, but I am sure I could still use some training with that. But I will not make that too hard on you! I have been given my first rounds of my vaccines and I am FLV/FIV/HW NEGATIVE as of 10/12/2023! I really want to find my home! I will be here waiting for a family to choose me! My adoption fee is $57.50.

This overlooked girl is Mildred. She is a 1 year and 3-month-old fawn and white Pit mix. She was brought to the shelter as a stray through Hopkinsville animal control. Mildred has been here for 100 days now, and desperately wants to find her home. She has done fantastically with the staff and everyone else she has met at the shelter. Due to the fact that she has been here so long, she has begun to jump a lot. That could be trained out of her, and once she gets all that energy out, it shouldn’t be as bad. She is NOT GOOD WITH CHILDREN, so she needs to be in a home without them. Mildred has gotten along well with the dogs she has been kenneled with, so if that is a worry for you, she is worth a trial adoption to see if she would work out. We also do not know how she does with cats or if she is housetrained. Although, she keeps her kennel pretty clean. Mildred is a sweet girl and would make a great addition to the family! She is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE as of 07/18/2023 and weighs about 60 pounds. She has been SPAYED and BROUGHT CURRENT ON HER RABIES VACCINE through the shelter’s GET ‘EM DONE program. Mildred has been overlooked time and time again, and we just do not understand it. She is a very sweet girl that really just wants to be loved. Mildred is desperately awaiting the day her FURR-EVER home comes to take her home! She is a NO CHARGE adoption. such a small price to pay for this misunderstood girl.
The Christian County Animal Shelter recommends three additional pets this week.
Haven 12:10 Animal Sanctuary
Just in time for Halloween… Meet Monte!!! The quintessential black cat! He’s a handsome charming prince of a domestic shorthair! Neutered and utd on vaccines and preventatives, Monte may take a while to warm up to new hoomans but once he does, he is an extraordinary affectionate fun cuddle buddy!! His age… Well it’s been a topic of debate, but likely around 8 yrs. He is sitting and healthy! Monte has been with us a long time – week over a year – as he is shy and uncomfortable at most adoption events. He’s looking for a patient loving family that he can bond with for life! If you’d like to adopt contact Haven 12:10 Animal Sanctuary at 270-987-6545 or haven1210sanctuary@gmail.com.

Moving Mountains for Mastiffs
Storm is a 10-month-old black female Bandog/Corso mix who is located in Hopkinsville, KY at Moving Mountains for Mastiffs Rescue. She is ok with strangers, other dogs and even kids. It is unknown at this time how she is with cats as she has never been around them. She is currently working on her manners and training. She is very smart and picking things up quickly. If you would like to adopt from Moving Mountain for Mastiffs, please complete an adoption application at https://form.jotform.us/82034796384162. We do require approved adopters to come to the rescue to meet the dogs.

Max’s Hope Pet Rescue
Hershey is estimated to be around 3-4 years old and is looking for an incredibly special home. She needs to be an only pet- NO OTHER DOGS OR CATS and would do best in a home without small children due to her energy level. This babe needs someone athletic who can keep up with her. She loves exercising her long legs and keeping in shape. She has a high prey drive and so, will need someone familiar with animals. She would be amazing at being trained and using her skills! She is also an expert jumper so would need a home with a fence for sure! She’s a warm pile of chocolate and just wants love. A family or individual would do her a world of good! Hershey is really a good girl and will make someone a great companion! She is fully vaccinated, spayed, and heartworm negative. Adoption fee: $85. If you’d like to adopt from Max’s Hope please fill out an application at www.maxshope.com.
