HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A home on Greenville Road in Hopkinsville was damaged in a fire Tuesday morning.

Around 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 3, a passerby noticed smoke coming from the home at the corner of Greenville and Jago Road. Hopkinsville Fire Department says emergency crews responded within three minutes of notification and found smoke coming from the structure.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and the home was found to be vacant. The structure sustained significant fire and smoke damage. It has been determined that the fire likely started as a result of using a supplemental heating device inside the home.

No injuries were reported.
