HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Tornado, flash flooding, heavy rain and strong storms caused damage in Christian County Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service has since surveyed the area and determined an EF0 tornado touched down with an estimated 85 mph peak winds.

At 6:23 p.m. on Sept. 5, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Christian County Emergency Managment Wednesday morning reported damage across the county. A home partially collapsed during the storm on Wade Road in Crofton.

Minor damage has been reported around Hopkinsville, and residents around Gary Lane claim to have seen the tornado. The National Flash flooding is still affecting some roads, but no cases of flooding in homes have been reported so far.
