HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Storm chances will increase Thursday and into the weekend as Hurricane Francine makes landfall in Louisiana. The National Weather Service is predicting one to three inches of rain across in the western Kentucky region, including Christian County.

The heaviest rainfall will occur Thursday afternoon and overnight, localized flooding may occur. “A small chance of thunderstorms will linger over much of the region Saturday through Tuesday. Locally heavy rainfall and lightning will be the primary concerns,” said an alert from NWS.

The forecast shows a high chance of rain Thursday and Friday, with more possible Sunday and an increased chance of isolated thunderstorms.
