HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced in a news release that upcoming road repairs in downtown Hopkinsville may cause some traffic delays.

Crews are scheduled to do base failure repairs on Walnut Street on Sept. 7 and 8. The repairs include removing and replacing asphalt, so they warn of road closures. The Transportation Cabinet says that flaggers will be in place, and delays will occur, so drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.

The work area is specifically located at Walnut Street between the CSX railroad bridge and Ninth Street. This work is in preparation for the resurfacing of Walnut Street in late September or early October.
