HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Public Schools has confirmed that campuses will remain closed through Wednesday, Feb. 4. A message to families says this decision came after road conditions were assessed across the county. Students will be utilizing Non-Traditional Instruction Day #9, with the Inspire Early Learning Center open with modified hours from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
“Our team drove over 200 miles of roads today to assess conditions firsthand,” said a statement from CCPS. “Unfortunately, multiple roads and bus routes remain snow and ice-covered, making them unsafe for school bus travel. We are actively working with both city and county road departments to identify these specific areas and continue the cleaning process. We want to extend a sincere thank you to these crews for their hard work and dedication in helping clear our community’s roads.”
CCPS says Grab-N-Go food bundles that contain breakfast and lunch will be available for students (PreK–12). They can be picked up on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Christian County Middle School, located at 215 Glass Avenue. in Hopkinsville. Families can enter the drive on the PAC side of the school and proceed around to the back of the building to the bus drop-off/cafeteria entrance.
Families with questions may contact their school through ParentSquare, Google Classroom, or email.
