HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Salvation Army is offering time-limited eviction prevention assistance to eligible residents in Western Kentucky. Assistance will be available June 16, 17, and 18, and appointments must be made in advance by calling 270-885-9633.

This vital support is aimed at residents who are currently behind on rent and have either received a landlord notice or a court-ordered eviction notice. The program is available to individuals and families residing in Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Muhlenberg, Todd, or Trigg counties in Kentucky.

“This is about keeping people in their homes,” said Lt. David Donegan of The Salvation Army in Hopkinsville. “We understand that one missed paycheck or unexpected bill can set someone back. Our goal is to help stabilize families during this critical moment and prevent homelessness before it starts.”

Landlords Encouraged to Reach Out

In addition to tenants, landlords who are aware of tenants in need of rental assistance are strongly encouraged to call. Working together can prevent the need for eviction and help preserve housing stability for everyone involved.

“If you’re a landlord with tenants who are behind on rent, we urge you to contact us,” said Lt. Donegan. “You may be the connection your tenant needs to get the help that keeps them housed and your property stable.”

Residents and landlords must act quickly to take advantage of this limited opportunity. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 270-885-9633. The Salvation Army team is also available to answer questions about eligibility and documentation.

Lt. Donegan added, “No one should face eviction alone. If you or someone you know is struggling to pay rent and lives in one of the counties we serve, please call us. We’re here to help.”
