HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community about a trending scam in the area.
According to the CCSO, deputies have receiving multiple reports of scam companies approaching households and offering to rock or pave their driveway. The person will often imply that they have leftover materials from a previous job they can use at a discounted rate.
But according to deputies, the work they produce is often very low quality, or the person will take money and never come and complete the job. Either way, the targeted household will end up unsatisfied, and often will money lost.
Deputies encourage people to fully vet companies online or with the BBB to ensure they are legitimate so a scam can be avoided. And if the work produced is clearly poorly done or money is stolen, civil court or criminal charges with the department are an option.
