HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Greenway is a paved walking and biking trail system that began in 2001 when the Pennyrile Rail Trail Foundation was formed.

The belief of the foundation was, “The abandoned Fort Campbell rail spur will make a wonderful linear park that will provide cost effective and safe recreation. These facilities are popular with all age groups and require very little maintenance.”

Currently, the greenway measures over 3 miles, 6 miles round-trip from the Riverwalk to Pardue Lane. It is open dawn to dusk.

Trailheads with parking, landscaping information, rules and restroom information are available on the Hopkinsville Greenway rail trail map.
