HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – At December’s Christian County Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent Kevin Crider presented the design for the new Christian County High School’s sports complex.
The large, grassy complex would be comprised of turf covered baseball and softball fields, a four-lane running track, practice soccer field, and tennis courts. Seating can be seen in the design along with stadium lights. The board voted to open bids for the project, estimated by Alliance Corporation to cost $7.5 million.

At the beginning of the meeting, Alliance Corporation representative Tim Geegan assured the board that overall construction for the new school is on budget and on time. The gymnasium and an adjacent section are the only parts of the building not under roof at this time.
“If somebody told me by the end of this year we’d have that much under roof, I’d have said no way.” said Geegan. He further praised the masonry company that has been working hard laying brick on the exterior of the buildings. “We are on or ahead of schedule, everything seems to be going very well,” he continued.
Bids for the sports complex should be reviewed by the end of January 2025, with construction concluding around December 2025. This timeline will leave ample time for grass to properly grow in and be ready for students by 2026. The complex will be located near the student parking lot and the Agriculture Academy.
