Updated 9 a.m. Hopkinsville Fire/EMS has disclosed that the sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel are currently on the scene of an accident on I-169 (Pennyrile Parkway).
According to CCSO, the accident involves a semi-truck around the 16-mile marker heading northbound. Both lanes are currently closed to incoming traffic. A photo provided of the scene of the accident show sand spilled across the roadway.
People traveling in this direction are encouraged to reroute at Exit 11. The closure is expected to remain for an extended period of time.
