Seth Delaney, 89, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2024, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
A native of Christian County, KY he was born October 8, 1935, the son of the late Arnold and Birchie Delaney. He was retired from the State of Kentucky where he served as an electronic technician for the state’s toll facilities. Following retirement, he spent most of his time on the farm. When he wasn’t farming, he could be found restoring antique tractors and vehicles. He was a charter member of Edgewood Baptist Church but had recently attended Liberty Christian Church. He was a member of the Hopkinsville Masonic Lodge, an Ambulance Driver for the Shriners, and a member of Gideons International.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Young Delaney; and his five siblings.
Survivors include his wife: Mary A. Cummings Delaney; his son: Seth David (Barbara) Delaney of Franklin, NC; his daughter: Donna Delaney (Eddie) Hughes of Festus, MO; his stepson: Mark (Teresa) Reid of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren: Seth Daniel Delaney, Aaron (Courtney) Hughes, and Jonathan (Erin) Hughes; his step granddaughter: Taylor (Dylan) Campbell; his great grandchildren: Adeline Hughes, Grayston Hughes, Harper Hughes, Maggie Hughes, Charlie Hughes, and Boyer Hughes; and his step great grandchildren: Reid Campbell.
