Update, 12:13 p.m.: A new Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for eastern Christian County until 1 p.m. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Crofton to near Pembroke to near Guthrie, moving northeast at 35 mph with up to 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-size hail.

Update, 11:25 a.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southwestern Christian County until 12:15 p.m. A severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southeast of Wranglers Campground, moving northeast at 40 mph with up to 70 mph wind gusts.

“Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings,” the NWS said. “For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.”

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Christian and surrounding counties until 5 p.m.

There is increasing confidence for thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, becoming numerous to widespread at times, according to the National Weather Service. The main threats are possible damaging wind gusts and large hail. The tornado threat is low.

  • Sunday: A chance of showers before 1pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of showers after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 63. West northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
