HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Flood Watch has been issued through April 6 at 7 a.m., and a Wind Advisory is in effect for Christian County through midnight ahead of incoming storms and rain.
The National Weather Service in Paducah is predicting extreme weather conditions for the area as severe storms are expected to move in Wednesday night. Overnight conditions will likely allow for EF-2 or EF-3 type tornadoes in the region. Western Kentucky is likely to face the full impact of the line of storms, with long track tornadoes possible.

“Supercells and clusters of storms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail are anticipated,” said a statement from NWS Paducah. “By the time this is all done Saturday, historic flooding impacts are possible. Roads washed out, homes and businesses inundated, water in a lot of places that it does not belong. Have a plan and take action as needed to protect yourself and those around you.”
Predictions from NWS Paducah show that Christian County is rated a four out of five for severe weather potential, with storms likely to hit before 10 p.m. Through the rest of the week, nearly a foot of rain is expected to fall.
