HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Over 100 people came out the to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office Paws and Claws adoption event this weekend.
Deputy Chris Miller happily reports that 15 dogs were adopted during the event on Oct. 21. The department also joined in on the fun and adopted a puppy of their own. The boxer mix is named Allik, and he will be making appearances at events hosted by the Sheriff’s Office in the future as their unofficial mascot.

The Sheriff’s Office teamed up with multiple local pet rescues like Christian County Animal Shelter, Max’s Hope, the Humane Society, Moving Mountains for Mastiffs, and Haven 12:10 Animal Sanctuary.
The event also had food trucks, music and door prizes. Free nail clipping and $8 microchipping for pets was also available. See more about the event on the Christian County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
