HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was arrested overnight into Sunday after firing shots outside of a fast-food restaurant.

On March 29 just after 1 a.m. officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were dispatched to the parking lot of Burger King on Fort Campbell Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. When the call came to ECC, a 47-year-old man was in the parking lot, banging on the door and screaming for water. The suspect then began firing a semiautomatic pistol.

When approached by officers, HPD says the suspect was non-compliant at first, and was believed to be manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance. A glass bottle with an unknown substance was located on his person.

The man was arrested and was taken to the Christian County Jail. He is being charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and drug possession.
