HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Police are investigating a shots fired incident that left a boy with serious injuries Monday night near the 1000 block of East Ninth Street.
Just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday, emergency services were notified that a male juvenile had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Payton Rogers, spokesperson with Hopkinsville Fire/EMS said the small child who was injured was treated and transported in critical condition to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and was then flown via helicopter to Vanderbilt Pediatrics in Nashville.
According to EMS, crews worked aggressively to improve his condition, but he is facing life threatening injuries. Hopkinsville Police are investigating the circumstances and have cordoned off the home, according to Christian County Now news partner Dash 10 Media.
