HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Spring athletics will look a little different for Hopkinsville High School as the softball season fails to fill their roster for the season.
In a news release from Christian County Public Schools, they announced that they will not field a team for the 2025 season due to lack of student interest and participation. “Hopkinsville High coaching staff and administration made diligent efforts to build a team, but ultimately, were unable to sufficiently fill the roster,” said Johnna Brown with CCPS. She also added that this is not something that has happened previously to her knowledge.
The focus will now shift to developing student interest and participation for future seasons at HHS. Meanwhile, the schools varsity baseball team will proceed as normal, with scrimmages and games already scheduled through the season. Other spring athletics for the district include track, bass fishing, and tennis.
