HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office worked in conjunction with Metro Nashville Police and other law enforcement agencies to intercept a suspect fleeing across state lines in a stolen car.

On July 31 around 1 p.m., CCSO was alerted that Tennessee law enforcement was in pursuit of stolen vehicle from the Nashville and Clarksville area, according to a news release. The suspect was heading westbound on the interstate across state lines into Christian County when Tennessee authorities ended their pursuit and CCSO deputies stepped in.

A helicopter from Nashville Metro Police Department flew overhead to continue tracking the vehicle for deputies as the suspect headed towards Pembroke. He was located by deputies and the Pembroke Police Chief on Highway 115, and the pursuit continued down Pembroke Road eventually heading towards Bradshaw Road where the 27-year-old suspect was apprehended without incident.

The Springfield man was determined to have active warrants in Tennessee and is facing several charges including fleeing and evading police and receiving stolen property. The car was stolen the day before from Bowling Green and has since been returned to the owner.

The CCSO credits the successful apprehension of the suspect to the collaborative efforts from the Pembroke, Hopkinsville, Metro Nashville, and Clarksville Police Departments along with Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
