HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was charged with drug trafficking after Hopkinsville Police officers pursued the suspect for assaulting and shooting at a woman in Hopkinsville.
The 39-year-old suspect was arrested at Heather Place around 6 a.m, with police arriving on the scene at 2:30 a.m. During a domestic dispute, a woman was assaulted by the suspect and attempted to escape in her vehicle, according to a police report. The suspect forced himself into her car, causing her more physical harm and discharging a gun.
Officers made contact with the suspect at his listed residence and found marijuana in plain view along with a digital scale and baggies. A continued search of the home resulted in more marijuana and the suspected firearm. The man was arrested and charged with assault, wanton endangerment, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
